Hello from Holland

Beitragvon Sijmes » Di 9. Aug 2016, 11:44

Hi, quick hello.

Simon here, I live just outside Amsterdam and ride an Xt600. My TT600r is mostly in pieces in my back yard, following various attempts to get it running. Will send some pics soon..
Hopefully somebody on here holds the key to my problem.. :D

What is actually your problem? When the Tt600r is in pieces in your backyard, can't run. :pff: :?

Hi Julius.

Maybe an old thread now, but I have exactly the same set of problems as Alisdair... viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6893

the thread seems to end without conclusion, would love to know how he finally fixed the problem.

I don’t know if the problems of Alisdair are resolved. He made no feedback.
Torn has tried to help and gave a lot of gut advices. Have you tried to check his list?
I can’t help forwards, no new ideas except to ask you, if you are checked the decompression cable? It must be set correctly. That could be a source of the problem that you are not able to kick your bike properly.
Remote diagnosis is always difficult, sorry

Julius, that file helpt a lot... :P

I bought the bike from a colleague, who had taken it apart and couldnt be botherd to rebuild it. Whilst installing the carbs, I managed to route an overflow pipe to the inlet manifold. This caused either a strange vacuum situation, or the engine sucked the float bowl empty and maybe drowned itself in doing so. The inlet manifolds were new and I didnt have the old ones, so I wasnt aware of the rubber blanking plug that should have closed it off.

I think an empty capacitor may have accounted for my no spark situation, I have yet to switch back to the original CDI to see what happens. I have a feeling that the old one is OK. I have one unsolved question concerning the hose connected to the big steel pipe on the right of the YDIS carbs. This rubber pipe leads to a plastic valve, on my XT600 this valve is blocked in both directions, but on the TT600 it is free in both directions. Does anyone know what the correct state is voor this valve..? I think the bike runs better with this blocked and I manged to kick start it for the first time tonight with the valve blocked.

The Bike goes like the wind, I just need to get better at kick starting it... :) Ive read all the tips on here and Im using all of them.

Hello Simon, can you send a picture of the rubber pipe or use a microfish to point it out? I am also from the Netherlands so if you need copy material of a good running example please let me know. I also have a spare CDI available.
I was struckling myself to get it running properly so I know your headaches :D
